NOTES |
Maleic anhydride is a useful chemical intermediate in in organic synthesis. It is often used to make downstream derivatives for plastics, adhesives and coatings. Its hydrolyzed form is maleic acid.
Maleic anhydride is also a dispersant; it compounds with sulfurous additives and acts as a dispersant in drilling mud.
